VoxType is a product of VeyraLabs Group. This privacy policy explains how we handle data when you use the VoxType desktop application and website (voxtype.pro).

Free tier (BYOK): VoxType processes your voice locally. Your audio goes from your microphone directly to your chosen STT provider (Deepgram, OpenAI, etc.). We do not receive, process, or store your audio or transcriptions.

Paid tiers: To provide AI transcription without your own API keys, we proxy your audio to our STT and LLM providers. We do not store audio recordings. Transcriptions may be temporarily processed in memory and are not persisted.

Account data: When you create a VoxType account, we store your email address, hashed password (if using email auth), and subscription status. If you sign in with GitHub OAuth, we receive your GitHub email and profile name.

Usage data: On paid plans, we store usage counts (minutes consumed) to enforce subscription limits. On the free tier with your own keys, we do not track usage.

Analytics: The VoxType website uses privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. No personally identifiable data is shared with advertisers.

We use your data to: provide and operate the VoxType service, send transactional emails (account confirmation, subscription receipts), enforce subscription limits, and respond to support requests.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties except as required to operate the service (our hosting provider, payment processor Stripe, email provider Resend).

Account data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. Upon deletion, your account data is permanently removed within 30 days.

Audio recordings: not stored. Transcriptions: not stored (processed in memory only on paid plans). Usage counts: deleted with your account.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you, correct inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, object to processing, and data portability.

The VoxType website uses minimal cookies: a session cookie for authentication (if you are signed in), and analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. All data in transit uses TLS 1.3. API keys you enter in the desktop application are stored locally using your operating system's credential store (Keychain on macOS, Credential Manager on Windows, Secret Service on Linux).
